HostICan Review

HostICan Review

April 2nd, 2007

Jen Huls from Pop Stalin Design has written a great review of HostICan.

In the beginning of February she used HostICan’s SwitchNow service — HostICan’s offer to transfer all your files and databases from your previous web host — and apparently it worked flawlessly.

She had two reasons to move. She wanted a server with PHP5 and she wanted better uptime. After the first month she is still very happy about her decision and recommend them based on their quick and pleasant support, website speed and hardly any downtime (3 minutes in a month).

Thanks for this review, although it’s a bit short, but it does the trick. Didn’t know they could actually transfer all your files and databases from your old host though.

HostICan was fine for the first two weeks; after that, I started getting plagued by errors saying I was overusing the server’s resources. The support staff told me to access my CPU logs, but these confirmed that I had not in fact broken the limits stated in their policy. When I pointed this out, they started ignoring me.

Fortunately I was still within my 30-day refund term. After trying to resolve this issue for 2 more frustrating weeks and failing, I got my refund and left. I am now at a different host where I am experiencing no resource problems whatsoever.

To all those considering using this company, I suggest caution.
